President Biden signed the nearly $1.9 trillion dollar American Rescue Plan Act to provide COVID-19 relief to Americans. On December 1, 2021 Governor John Carney and Lieutenant Governor Bethany Hall-Long created a community-based mental health service fund. This funding supports the delivery of mental health services in Delaware communities. From this grant opportunity, Josie's Grace was created to address the amplified mental distress in the perinatal dyad. Josie's Grace elevates the public health and hope of our communities by providing early access and free programming during the fourth trimester. Funding will provide location and nursing care to new mothers experiencing high stress. This trauma-informed and psychiatric nurse practitioner-developed curricula is maternal and infant mental-health focused.
Anne DeCaire serves as a founding board member of the Postpartum Support International - DE Chapter. As chapter Secretary, she is linking Josie's Grace Program as a new resource to share with those who contact PSI for help.
