Josie's Grace is 4 week program*, attended 3 hours a week on Wednesday or Thursday, allowing new Mama's/Birthing Parents to navigate stress and fatigue while off-setting isolation in the fourth trimester. Isolation and lack of self-care put mothers and new parents at risk for developing or relapse of a mood or anxiety disorder. Early interventions can interrupt the cycle allowing for a smoother transition into motherhood. Caring for the mother during this vulnerable time will support optimal attachment within the new dyad, thus also generating positive impacts on the infants' health.
Postpartum movement at Josie's Grace is a reminder of the connection between mind and body (and, just how sore our shoulders and backs are!). With a gentle approach, we begin to explore being in this postpartum body and being grateful for all it has done in the past twelve months.
The Josie's Grace Journaling practice allows us to process our thoughts and emotions surrounding our adjustment to motherhood. This prompted journaling tool allows Mom's to explore topics deeper within themselves and later keep for a continued journey postpartum.
